21st of January

Hiya all,

As always, hope you all are well. Been very busy with work and getting to the gym after work. Started playing soccer during lunch on Tuesdays with a bunch of guys I work with. It's indoor and only about a 5 minute walk to the gym. I started playing two weeks ago but really look forward to it during the week. We all take it serious enough to get a good workout, but not too serious where it would effect work. We play 5 a side, on a basketball court so it's a good amount of running back and forth. Other than that I've continued to swim a couple times a week and lift on the other days. Want to get back to the serious weight workouts. The weights area is good enough and also has a 25 meter pool with a brand new sauna. Right next to work so there's no reason to ever miss a workout. Even use the sauna sometimes on my lunch. Other than that not much happening. Settling in right well at work. Pretty social crew I work with so we have a few laughs during the day. Probably head out for a few pints tonight, as last night was quiet and then watch the Giants game tomorrow night. Supposed to head out for a hike tomorrow morning but there's some good socer during the day and due for rain, so not sure if it'll stand. Want to be well rested for the Giants game cause it won't kickoff here till half 11, which is fair shit but not much can be done. Be a tough Monday morning but if the Giants win, the office will never see a happier bloke. Alright good enough for now. All the best. To my family I miss ya's very much and think about ya often. Sorry I haven't been able to call much but hopefully soon. Alright, Good luck. Bren

First week of Work

Hidy all,

So I finished my first week of work yesterday. I'm on a new team but still on the same floor I was on when I was on contract so I still see my old co-workers. It seems so far, like there will be more work with the team which I am fine with. Working with a new team and new portfolios will be good for my career and a nice switch. I really could not have asked for a better situation. I was able to go home see my family and friends, get some sun, and see a Giants game. I mean what else does a guy really need. For me, not much, I'm pretty content. I'll be heading to this Aussie bar tonight to watch the Saints Niners game. I could watch it at home but I'd rather head out there and try and talk football with someone hopefully. I'm pretty excited for the Giants game as ya would. We'll see how it goes tomorrow but I'm thinking they'll show up to play. Not sure if I'll go to the Woolshed to watch it as well but I may. Well best of luck to y'all.

First week Back

Hidy all,

Just getting in a quick entry before the Giants playoff game starts. Watching the game in Ireland, by myself, is not the same, as you can imagine, as being at the game, tailgating with other rowdy Giants fans. Either way I can't wait for it to start. It's nice being back and my first day of work is tomorrow, so I am excited to get started and get back to my regular day to day. On the other hand it has rained everyday since I have been here. Not complaining but just saying. I mean no sun at all. Maybe I shouldn't have gone down to Florida to see Nanny and Grandpa. All I can think about now is them down there, relaxing and enjoying 80 degree weather. Alrght but back to reality. I put on some Island jams (jimmy buffett) today just to try and shake the coldness. All the roommates are doing well. Still living with the same guys, in the same gaffe as when I left. Not getting much sleep either but hoping now with work starting I get some stabiilty in my days. Alright all the best and pray for a Giants win.

Night before I leave

Hello all,

I hope everyone had a great holiday. I had an amazing time in New Jersey seeing family and friends. Tomorrow is the day when I head back to Ireland for my second year in Ireland, first as an Irish citizen. I wrote my first blog last year the night before I left so I thought I would do the same for my second year. Towards the end of last year I kind of fell off as far as keeping up with the blogs. So back by popular demand I will start doing more blogs but with less writing and information. This was suggested by my Dad's mother who thought the best way to keep the blogs easier for me to write and people to read were to make them shorter. So that is what I will do. I will still be posting all my pictures so if you have any questions about where I was or where pictures are from you can always ask me and I will be more than happy to answer.

I am looking forward to heading back to Dublin and starting the new year as an Irish citizen. I also have an Irish passport so travelling as a European citizen should be much easier than as an American. So tomorrow night I will take off and I have no idea when I will be back. I will take it year by year from here on out. See ya on the other side of the pond folks.

Adios,

Bren
